Paul has more than two decades of relevant building services and energy related experience. He is a fully qualified and accredited ESOS Lead Assessor, who acted as Lead Assessor for numerous ESOS audits during Phase 1 of this national scheme. He is an accredited CIBSE Level 5 Low Carbon Energy Assessor (the highest level of qualification available), and an accredited CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. He is also qualified to conduct Level 5 Dynamic Simulation Model (DSM) EPCs: these are more accurate than conventional EPCs for buildings with cooling and shading (from windows or from nearby buildings) and buildings that utilise atria and thermal mass as part of their design. He is also qualified to conduct the required 4-yearly air conditioning systems inspections and certification for commercial premises (including schools). He is currently studying to achieve his Passivhaus Designer qualification. (The main objective of the Passivhaus standard is to reduce the heating and cooling requirements inside a building to the point where a traditional heating or cooling system is no longer considered essential).
